Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence

A CHRIST mas reminder....

I was blessed to have the opportunity to sing a beautiful, old hymn for our church's Christmas service this last week. It's called "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence." The words of this song incite such a powerful reminder of what this season is truly about; that God come down in Christ Jesus for our salvation. I've posted the Youtube video and the song lyrics below....

Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
and with fear and trembling stand;
ponder nothing earthly minded,
for with blessing in his hand
Christ our God to earth descendeth,
our full homage to demand.

King of kings, yet born of Mary,
as of old on earth he stood,
Lord of lords in human vesture,
in the Body and the Blood
he will give to all the faithful
his own self for heavenly food.

Rank on rank the host of heaven
spreads its vanguard on the way,
as the Light of Light descendeth
from the realms of endless day,
that the powers of hell may vanish
as the darkness clears away.

At his feet the six-winged seraph;
cherubim with sleepless eye,
veil their faces to the Presence,
as with ceaseless voice they cry,
"Alleluia, alleluia!
Alleluia, Lord Most High!"

Words: Liturgy of Saint James (fifth century); trans. Gerald Moultrie (1829-1885), 1864
Music: Picardy (French carol as in The English Hymnal, 1906)

CHRISTMAS PUPPY!!!

We have a cute new addition to the Schnee family! No....it's not a baby...at least not a human baby! This is our 9 week old puppy, Joonyper (pronounced like Juniper). She is a Yorkie-Pooh (Yorkshire Terrier mixed with Poodle). She is a sweet, spunky little girl. We are having a BLAST with her!

Joonyper's sister went to my parents (Debbie and Bill) and they named her Flicker. Joony and Flicker had fun pouncing on tissue paper and eating bows and cookie crumbs this Christmas.

Joonyper and Flicker... Bath time.

Christmas Puppy!

We are such nerds.....unabashedly!!!

Anderson Family Pic.... We forgot to take one with Mom and Dad Schnee...but we did enjoy a wonderful Christmas eve up in the East Mountains....Look for documentation of the Schnee family trip to Argentina this coming spring!!

Love to all of our family and friends, especially those who are far away....we MISS you!
Merry Christmas and Happy 2009!
